Abstract

Developing electrodes with the high efficiency for full cell lithium ion batteries (LIBs) are still challenging. In the present report, we discussed about the performance of LiCoO2 which is analysed by full cell prepared by solid state route. To enhance the electrochemical performance, MgO and ZnO are assigned on the surface of LiCoO2 for better performance. Both ZnO and MgO are synthesized via hydrothermal route. The full cell fabricated with MgO-coated LiCoO2 delivers the high capacity of about 145 mAh/g. The performance of full cell confirms the effect of MgO and ZnO on the surface of LiCoO2 which enhances the efficiency of LIBs.
