Abstract
AbstractThe mechanical behaviour of cellular materials is dominated by the influence of the microtopology. If the characteristic microstructural length scale becomes comparable to the macroscopical length scale, classical homogenisation strategies fail and have to be replaced by extended approaches. In the present contribution, we present a micropolar continuum model for large deformations introducing the microrotation as an additional degree of freedom. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
