Abstract

The problem of adsorption of cyclohexane and cyclohexene on hydroxylated and esterified with n-pentanole and n-nonanole silica gels was studied. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of surface modification of silica gel on their adsorption behavior. On the basis of our results a new term “architecture of adsorption centers” was proposed. This term may be used in describing the surface properties and structure of surface layers of chemically modified adsorbents and is related to spatial distribution of energetic centers of modified adsorbents.
