Abstract

Herein, we have systematically illustrated the specific impact of Ce-Zn co-substituted M-type strontium hexaferrites on its microstructure and magnetic properties. An evident phase pattern change process and performance improvement are observed from a series of systematic measurements. The results of X-ray diffraction show that the single phase can be obtained when x = 0.00–0.30, the other unexpected diffraction peaks of hematite (α-Fe2O3) will appear in the patterns as x > 0.3. Scanning electron microscopy exhibits that all samples formed the uniform plane hexagonal structures with different substitution contents. FT-IR spectra verify the confirmation that M-type hexagonal structure has been formed thoroughly. M(T) curve displays the ferrimagnetic behavior of temperature dependent magnetization. And vibrating sample magnetometer indicates both Ms and Hc can be improved significantly, indicating an excellent performance in novel recording devices.
