Abstract

The artificial aerosol is widely used in modern battlefields to protect potential targets and to conceal movement of personnel and material. In this paper we calculated the double-band infrared extinction coefficients of the aerosol and compared them with our experimental data. In the calculation, the particulates were assumed spherical in shape and Mie's theory was employed with the grain size distribution function being lognormal. This research is of practical significance in the design of infrared aerosols.
