Abstract

Some of the important controlling factors involved in the electrophoretic desorption of material from affinity matrices (the electrophoresis current, the matrix thickness, and the electrophoresis buffer molarity and temperature) have been investigated. Subsequently, the optimum conditions have been used to desorb human serum albumin from Cibacron Blue F3G-A—Sepharose 6B. The results demonstrate some of the advantages of the technique, including the mild conditions, high yield, and small desorbate volume.
