Abstract
Current study represents the effective synthesis of neodymium vanadate (NdVO4) nanoparticles in the presence of ammonium metavanadate and neodymium nitrate hexahydrate as the precursors. Temperature and three various green capping agents such as, ethyl cellulose, starch and tween 80 were used to investigate how they can influence morphology, photocatalytic properties, and particle size of final products. Also, paramagnetic behavior of as-obtained NdVO4 at room temperature, was confirmed by VSM analysis. Additionally, degradation of methyl orange as an azo dye was selected to assess photocatalytic performance of NdVO4 (maximum 97%) under visible light irradiation. Several analysis such as UV–Vis spectroscopy, EDX, XRD, SEM and VSM were employed to explore optical, morphological and magnetic properties of as-obtained products.
