Abstract

The wire size has a significant influence on the total loss of BLDC. In order to determine the relationship between the wire size and the total loss, and to find the wire size which minimizes the total loss of BLDC, this paper proposes a method based on wire diameter to calculate the total loss, and the finite element method is used to verify it. Using this method to analyse a motor model, it is found that with the increase of wire diameter, the total loss of BLDC shows a trend of decreasing and then increasing, and there is a wire size which minimizes the total loss of BLDC.
