Abstract

This work aims to investigate the oxidative exothermic effects and kinetics of multivariate mixtures of SARA fractions. The results showed that compared to other mixtures, the high temperature combustion (HTC) mass loss of the ternary mixture (S + R + A2) was the highest (22.46%), and it has the most considerable HTC heat release of 2.044 kJ/g. Aromatics could reduce the heat enthalpy and change the activation energy of ternary mixtures (S + A1 + R, S + A1 + A2) in the low temperature oxidation (LTO) and HTC stages. The oxidation reactivity of multivariate mixture formulated based on the ratio of heavy oil SARA fractions was improved by the interactions between SARA fractions.
