Abstract

The grain model is applied for cylindrical pellets with transient heat and mass transfer equations assuming spherical grains. Small quantities of pure metallic powders when added as additives to the parent material considerably altered the rate of decomposition. Further, experiments were carried out with black coated pellets to enhance the surface heat absorption and results have been presented and discussed qualitatively
