Abstract

The neutron noise signal of an initiation-of-boiling experiment performed at a swimming pool research reactor has been analyzed by the PSD-pattern recognition algorithm of Piety (1977); the results indicate that the onset of boiling can be detected by this method. Improved confidence statements for the statistical decision discriminants are given.
