Abstract

Objective To investigate tertiary hospitals sewage treatment situation in Ningbo, and provide basis for hospital sewage management and supervision. Methods Sewage treatments of 9 tertiary hospitals in Ningbo were surveyed by questionnaire during March and August 2016 on the basis of Regulation of Disinfection Technique in Healthcare Settings (2012 edition) and Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Medical Organization (GB18466-2005) . Epidata3.1 was used to compile the questionnaire, and data were double recorded. The data were analyzed by Excel 2007 and SPSS19.0. Results All 9 hospitals were equipped with sewage treatment equipment. The sewage treatment process was mainly based on secondary strengthening treatment or primary treatment. The sewage disinfection was mainly by chlorine dioxide or ultraviolet sterilization. Among these hospitals, 8 had personnel responsible persons for sewage treatment, and all of whom had been trained and qualified to get the certificate. Only one hospital’s sewage treatment matters were jointly held by the departments of infection-control and logistics. From 2015 to 2017, the qualified rates of fecal coliform and total residual chloride were 98.7% and 76.0%, and qualified rates of Salmonella and Shigella were both 100%. Conclusions The tertiary hospitals sewage treatment in Ningbo is in regulation. Both the supervision and management of sewage treatment in hospitals and the personnel qualification training should be strengthened.
