Abstract

The tensile ductility of AlCoCrCuFeNi alloy was studied in the temperature range of 373–1073 K. It could be shown that the system is composed of body centred cubic phase, and the alloy indicates evident intermediate temperature embrittlement with a minimum ductility between 573 and 873 K. The analysis carried out by the scanning electron and transmission electron microscopies revealed that there are precipitates within grains and at grain boundaries. Finally, the interpretation of precipitation in grain boundary for intermediate temperature embrittlement was then discussed.
