Abstract

Abstract Epoxy emulsified asphalt has begun to have some applications in bridge deck bonding layer, and its curing system has lower requirements for construction. After expanding its function to asphalt mixture, emulsification and epoxidation are even more demanding. Hence; Epoxy emulsified asphalt that is involved in this investigation is a new kind of high performance binder, which will be constructed at ambient temperature, and has even better performance than the traditional hot asphalt to be used in asphalt mixture. It is an excellent substitute product for environmental protection, energy conservation and consumption reduction. The preparation process and process control are complex than common emulsified asphalt, and the performance of the mixture is greatly affected by the emulsifying effect and epoxy curing effect. Test schemes in this study are designed for getting the best process methods and subsequence of procedures, by verifying the particle size and cohesion of epoxy emulsified asphalt with different components addition procedures, and the preparation process of epoxy emulsified asphalt was adjusted correspondingly.
