Abstract

In the situation of energy scarce and electronic power intense in China, Energy Storage Air Conditioning technology as the current peak load regulation of all available technology in the most economical and most effective way, can not only balance the electric power grid load, but also is important to improve energy utilization coefficient and ease China's energy crisis. To find out a compatible PCM for cooling storage air conditioning system, binary mixtures of Octanoic acid, Capric acid, Lauric acid, Cyclohexanone and Dodecanol were tested by differential scanning calorimeter. Test results show that when the mass ratio of Dodecanol and Octanoic acid is 2∶3, the phase transition temperature is 6.2 °C, phase transition enthalpy is 173.2 kJ/kg. A validation test for this mixture in a small experimental vapor compression refrigeration system was conducted. The test results tally well with the DSC test results.
