Abstract

AbstractIn this article, a simple and effective formulation of microscale deformation using to simplify the analysis of deformation and stress of carbon nanotube‐reinforced polymer composite (CNTRPC) material structures at the microscale is established. Using a numerical computation and a numerical simulation analysis, the effect of stress and deformation of the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and polymer matrix on different distribution mode of CNTs, temperature, or moisture is researched. The changing of the inside and outside surfaces' temperature of the material makes the deformation of polymer material unevenly. This work can provide some help to simplify the analysis of hygrothermal deformation and stress of CNTRPC material at both microscale and macroscale.
