Abstract
The thermal forming limit curve of carbon nanotube reinforced aluminum matrix composite (CNT/2009Al) was theoretically and experimentally investigated in this work. The mathematical procedure was solved on basis of Marciniak-Kuczynski model by applying the two constitutive equations of Swift equation and Voce equation. The influence of yield functions on FLD was analyzed by employing the general form of Hill’s 1979 yield criterion. The thermal Nakajima test was performed to determine FLD of the composite sheet. The result shows that, CNT/2009Al sheet formability is in a low level even at high temperature, and the FLD predicted by Hill’s 1979 makes a reasonable agreement with experimental data in right-hand zone.
