Abstract
Objective To discuss the demands of health education on cancer patients and faimilies in intra day ward.Methods By self-designed questionnaire 105 cancer patients and their families were investigated.Results Nursing health education was comprehensively demanded by cancer patients and families in intra day ward.However, the urgent degree of each demand was different.Outside hospital emergency instruction was demanded most urgently, followed by drug adverse reaction instruction, drug usage instruction, diet instruction, rest and exercises instruction, psychological counseling.Most welcomed health education methods included special propaganda handbooks, interviews with doctors and nurses and communication with fellow patients.Conclusions Nursing health education was comprehensively and especially demanded by cancer patients and families in intra day ward.The argeted nursing health education should be adopted to enhance cancer patients'self-care ability and quality of life.
