Abstract

Mechanical properties of Titanium-zirconium-molybdenum (TZM) and La2O3 doped TZM alloys under compression were tested at 1000°C and 1200°C. Microstructure of TZM and La2O3 doped TZM alloys after compressing was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The effects on La2O3 doping on the high temperature deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of the TZM alloy were analyzed. Results show that La2O3 doping can refine the grain size of TZM alloy. La2O3 doping changes fracture model of TZM alloy. TZM alloy exhibits mainly intergranular fracture, while the La2O3 doped TZM alloy exhibits both intergranular and transgranular fracture mode.
