Abstract

Objective To inyestigate community hypertensive's owning blood pressure meter and basic requirements of home blood pressure monitoring(HBPM).Methods A self-designed questionnaire of Basic Requirements Investigation of HBPM in patients of hypertension was used to investigate 300 hypertensive inpatients.Results Among investigated 300 hypertensions,162 of them owned a meter.The owning rate of blood pressure meters was 54.0%.Among the 162 hypertensions owning a meter,only 14.6% of them checked their monitor regulady;53.7% of them had a rest at least 5 minutes before blood pressure measurements;84.5% of them kept the cuff at the same lever of the heart;83.3% of them were seated,stopped talking and kept quiet when they were HBPM;only 14.8% of them measured blood pressure three times on each occasion,and got the average of three measurements as the present reference,value;8.0% of them stored or truly recorded blood pressure values;only 13.5% of them checked blood pressure every day or almoat every day.Condusions The effective use rate of blood pressure meter is low.It is necessary to improve the basic requirements of HBPM.
