Investigation on Calibration Technology of Digital Electrical Power Meter

Abstract

Electronic transformers in smart converting stations transmit date packet in the IEC61850-9-1/2 date frame. Digital electrical energy meters receive and process the date packet directly and get the quantity of the electricity. However, in the traditional converting station, electric transformers transmit the analog signals to the electrical energy meter, the signals in the meter are firstly converted to digital signals and then processed. Electronic transformers and digital electrical energy meters are completely different from the traditional device, as a result, one new method for the calibration of the digital electrical energy meters is necessary. The research proposes a new method for both traditional electrical energy meter and digital electrical energy meters, which support both no-load test and real load test method.
