Abstract

Objective To investigate work stress and self-rated health status of different age nurses from military hospitals.Methods The convenience sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey of 197 nurses using nursing stressor scale and self-rated health rating scale, with SPSS12.0 for statistical analysis.Results The score of nurses with 10 ~20 years of nursing age was (2.49 ±0.40), nurses with lower age of 10-year nursing was (2.38 ±0.54); nurses with working age more than 20 was (2.46 ±0.44); Nurses from different military hospitals with different nursing ages had a negative correlation between work stress and physical and mental health (P < 0.05).Conclusions The work stress affects the physical and mental health of the nursing groups.The greater the pressure is, the worse the health status of the nurses.Therefore, we propose the hospital administrators establish the support system of the nursing as soon as possible from the reality.Then,establish the decompress measures to alleviate the work pressure, maintain the physical and mental health of the nurses, to improve hospital care service quality, and promote the development of nursing discipline.
