Abstract

One-dimensional (1D) rutile phase of TiO2 such as branched nanorods, unidirectional nanorods (NRs), nanorods composed microspheres were synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method. CdSe Quantum dots was anchored on the TiO2 surface. The well-controlled and different nano-morphology were achieved by simply controlling hydrothermal reaction time of 4 h, 6 h and 8 h. The synthesized TiO2/CdSe were characterized by XRD, UV–Visible, SEM-EDX, and J-V characteristic studies. The rutile phase unidirectional NRs show 1.76% of solar cell efficiency owing to its high electron transport performance during fabrication. Our results shows that, the potentiality of TiO2/CdSe in innovative photoanode to attain improved performance of solar cell.
