Abstract

When fittings for elevated operating parameters (pressure and temperature) are planned, an indispensable condition is that the influence of the thermal regimes on the serviceability of the structure is taken into account. The final problems of such consideration consist of the following: determination of the maximal temperatures of the structural elements for the selection of the structural materials; determination of the thermal strains of interconnected structural elements so as to ensure functional serviceability of the finished product, e.g., that flanged joints are hermetically tight; determination of nonsteady temperature fields in structural elements of fittings for subsequent calculations of fatigue strength.
