Abstract

ABSTRACT The authors studied the effect of boron additives in the coating of electrodes. It is shown that the additions of boron promotes the formation of new solid, highly disperse and structured phases in the seam which, under certain conditions of their formation and isolation, influence the structure of the steel, carry out dispersed or zone hardening, and inhibit the development of cold cracks. The performed work makes it possible to quantitatively and qualitatively characterize the effect of boron on the structure of the welded seam, to expand the field of application of electrodes with a coating comprising boron.
