Abstract
An important problem in the construction of boiling water reactors, or reactors with boiling water and superheated steam in the process channels, is the investigation of the contamination by radioactive substances of the steam generated and directed into the turbine, the physical and chemical properties of the radioactive deposits and the possibility of decontamination of the internal surfaces of the piping and the turbine. At the First Nuclear Power Station, investigations have been made into the processes of transfer of radioactive substances by the steam and water in a loop installed in the first circuit of the power station. The coefficient of deposition of substances on the internal surface of piping is determined, and the chemical stability of the deposits is examined. Problems of decontamination of some parts of the steam power equipment of the station are investigated.
