Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-confidence levels and professional attitudes of nursing students. 
 Material and Method: The descriptive and correlational study was conducted with 533 nursing students at the Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department of Kafkas University between October 10 and November 5, 2022. Data collection tools were created on the internet using Google Forms and a link was created online. Data were collected using the "Identification Characteristics Question Form", "Self-Confidence Scale", and "Attitude Scale towards Nursing Profession", and analyzed by utilizing the IBM SPSS Statistics 28 package program.
 Results: The mean self-confidence score of nursing students participating in the study was 113.23 ± 28.40 and the mean attitude score towards the nursing profession was 153.93 ± 24.87. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the self-confidence scale scores and attitude scale scores towards the nursing profession of nursing students participating in the study was found to be 0.394. 
 Conclusion: As a result, it was determined that nursing students participating in the study had moderate self-confidence and positive professional attitudes.
