Abstract

The electromagnetic radiation of multilayer boards due to power-bus noise is investigated within the scope of electromagnetic compatibility. The analytic computation of the far field is based on the field equivalence principle, using a lossy cavity model for the required boundary electric field distribution. The maximum electric field is studied within the frequency range of 30 MHz–1 GHz. A parameter study clearly shows that the most effective parameter to lower radiation is the distance between the planes.
