Abstract

This article considers the Rice channel. This channel is used for signal propagation in urban conditions. For consideration, the communication channel is approximated in real conditions of signal propagation in the system. The main performance indicator of any communication system is investigated and calculated - the probability of error. Note that the probability of error is bit and character. In this article, we are talking about the probability of a symbolic error in the propagation of a signal over a communication channel. Estimating the values of the symbolic error, it is possible to conclude that the communication channel is immune to interference. In this paper, we calculated the probability of a symbol error with three different types of modulation, and plotted the dependencies of the error probability on the signal-to-noise ratio. The probability of error from the signal-to-noise ratio, demonstrated on the graphs, allows us to determine the dependence of the symbol error probability on the modulation factor M, and also allows us to draw conclusions about the use of one of the modulation methods for efficient operation of the communication channel. Efficiency and productivity of the communication channel are the main indicators that should be paid attention. An increase in the data transfer rate is an important criterion of the communication system.
