Abstract

1. The expediency of the use of packed capillary columns for the determination of physicochemical characteristics (heats of adsorption, rate constants, etc.) was demonstrated; in this way it is possible to perform measurements using small quantities of the sorbent (reagent) and substance. 2. The change in the physicochemical and chromatographic characteristics (specific surface, catalytic properties, heats of adsorption, etc.) of certain domestic samples of aluminum oxide depending upon different methods of modification was investigated. 3. Modified aluminum oxide was used in developing a rapid method of analyzing trace impurities of propylene and butylene in the ethane- ethylene fraction and for the separation ofα- and iso-butvlenes.
