Abstract

This article proposes a methodology for calculating the average trip length using the tools of mathematical statistics and probability theory. The proposed approach makes it possible to estimate the length of the trip without using detailed data collected in the field. In the methodology, the calculations are based on the main characteristics of the routes and data on the number of passengers transported. An algorithm for calculating the average trip length indicator is presented, as well as a comparison of the results in a number of large cities.
