Abstract

Objective To study the nutritional status of the elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy and undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment by means of mini-nutritional assessment (MNA).Methods 40 elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy and undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment were included in our study and assessed by MNA.Results In elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy and undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment, the prevalence of malnutrition, potential malnutrition and the well nourished was 12.5%, 67.5%, 20%, respectively.Conclusions The prevalence of malnutrition and the risk of malnutrition of the elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy and undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment is high. Medical personnel should be prepared to intervention measures to correct the nutritional status of patients, improve patients' health and quality of life.
