Abstract

An investigation was made of the field distribution in LiNbO3:Ti waveguides at the wavelength of 1.3μ. The field distributions with the depth and across the waveguide were compared with theoretical calculations. These calculations were carried out using the effective refractive index and transverse resonance methods. The experimental results agreed well with the calculations. Waveguides with the minimal asymmetry of the field distribution were fabricated.
