Abstract

In this paper an analytical study of the effect of the transverse thermal dispersion on fully developed forced convection in a parallel-plate channel filled with an isotropic fluid saturated porous medium is carried out. It is assumed that the momentum flow in the channel is governed by the Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy equation. The objective of the present research is to determine in which situations thermal dispersion can significantly influence heat transfer in the channel.
