Abstract

Dependence of minor hysteresis loops on stress direction relative to magnetization and temperature has been investigated in Ni single crystals with compressive deformation. Despite strong dependence of the shape of minor loops on stress direction, magnetic properties obtained from simple relations between minor-loop parameters are independent of magnetic field and direction of applied stress. Moreover, we found that these relations follow power laws in a wide temperature region below Curie temperature. These results indicate the presence of universal power laws in minor loops which give intrinsic physical properties sensitive to dislocation density.
