Abstract

For a double pendulum loaded by following and conservative forces, in the nonlinear statement, the problem of stability of its zero equilibrium position is solved for the following critical stability cases: a single zero root, a pair of purely imaginary roots, a single zero root and a pair of purely imaginary roots of the characteristic equation. All results of the analytical computations are illustrated by numerical simulation.
