Abstract

In amorphous Fe 40Ni 40P 14B 6-alloys (Allied Chem. Corp., no. 2826), the domain structure is composed of wide, wavy laminae and islands of rather narrow laminar domains which are due to compressive stresses. From the field dependence of the domain width, we derived an effective anisotropy constant of K =6.2 × 10 2 J/m 3 ≡ 6.2 × 10 3 erg/cm 3, and a specific domain wall energy γ B = 0.17 × 10 -3 J/cm 2 ≡ γ B = 0.17 erg/cm 2.
