Abstract

A procedure is presented for the direct determination of possible limit cycles that might occur in two-coupled differential equations that can arise in the modeling of certain biological phenomena. Mathematical expressions are given so that for a particular pair of differential equations the possible limit cycles, their parameters, and stability properties can be calculated by a purely algebraic process. Several examples are used to illustrate the procedure.
