Abstract
Workplace conditions can affect the physical health and mental health of workers in them, which in turn can affect the performance and productivity of human labor. Therefore, workplaces need to be designed as well as possible by focusing on human factors. This research is intended to look for factors that are considered in the design of workplaces carried out in previous studies. The next objective is to investigate the factors that are relevant to be considered in designing workplaces in small and medium industries (SMIs) in Indonesia. The results of the investigation show that eight factors are considered as very relevant and the other twelve are considered as relevant. Overall, twenty factors are considered as relevant for consideration in designing workplaces in Indonesian SMIs.
