Abstract

The results of test harness simulation of hybrid stepper motor 34hs5435c with impulse control (from the driver) in MATLAB Simulink are presented, in which pull-in characteristics are obtained at the resolution of step 1/2, 1/8 and 1/16 and for the ratio of rotor inertia to load inertia of 1:1, 1:10, 1:15. To verify the simulation, an experiment was carried out on the loading bench, additionally, the pull-out characteristics of the investigated motor with DM860A driver at the resolution of step 1/2 and 1/16 are obtained. The results of the simulation and experiment are compared, discrepancies at step resolution 1/2 were less than 25 %, 1/16 – less than 20 %. It is shown that the real dynamic characteristics of the stepper motor with impulse control depend both on the load (inertia, friction), the step resolution, the voltage of the driver’s power supply, and the conditions of its operation. To improve the accuracy of the simulation, account should be taken of the influence of the environment and changes in the motor nominal parameters during the operation, mainly related to heating.
