Abstract
Frequency Diverse Array (FDA) is an interesting and relatively new topic promising new opportunities and capabilities for the antenna array applications. So far, many valuable researches have been conducted on the Frequency Diversity and many techniques and methods are introduced, developed or proposed. But most of the works are on Uniform Linear Arrays (ULA) and Uniform Rectangular Arrays (URA). There also exist a few studies on Uniform Circular Arrays (UCA). Symmetric structure of the circular geometries introduces some advantages over the other non-symmetric structures such as symmetric beam pattern, scanning through 360° azimuthally, better spatial resolution etc. In this study, the Frequency Diversity Array concept is applied to the Concentric Circular Array Geometry. The theory, analysis and the basic properties of the Concentric Circular Frequency Diverse Array (CCFDA) is presented and compared with rectangular and circular counterparts.
