Abstract

A microfocused, high energy wide angle X-ray diffraction method with micron-level spatial resolution was developed to investigate phase and strain distributions of individual components inside of planar solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Examples were given for the study of a commercial SOFC sample deactivated after direct contact with the high temperature stainless steel current collector under typical operating conditions.
