Abstract

A lead-free 0.48BZT/0.52BCT ceramic was successfully synthesized by the conventional method, and a perovskite 0.48BZT/0.52BCT solid solution was completely formed at 1250°C. The analysis of structure, microstructure, and dielectric property together confirmed the coexistence of tetragonal and rhombohedral phases in the sintered 0.48BZT/0.52BCT compound at room temperature. The effects of poling condition on piezoelectric properties of 0.48BZT/0.52BCT ceramic were studied. With the optimum poling condition of 20 kV/cm for 60 min in a silicon oil bath, the best values of piezo-coefficient (d33) and coupling factor (kp) were found as 542 pC/N and 0.52, respectively.
