Abstract

Abstract The dielectric properties of 0.3SrTiO3-0.7NdAlO3 ceramics under external optical fields were investigated by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy at room temperature. It could be found that the dielectric properties could be modulated by external optical pump and the tunability of permittivity was reached up to 12% at 0.6 THz. From the experimental results, it could be also found that the change of refractive index has a linear relationship on scale with the applied external light power. And these results was attributed to the an built-in electric field caused by the excited free carriers in the ceramics.
