Abstract

1. Neurons of the I, C, D, DM, VL, DL, and RVL in males manifest structural features of greater functional activity as compared with analogous cell populations of the females; in the MPC and the IS the reverse relationship is observed: neurons of structures in the females in the stage of diestrus are functionally more active than in the males. 2. Neurons of the I, C, D, DM, VL, and DL of the female rats manifest a dependence of their functional morphology on the stage of the estrus cycle; structural features of activation are observed in them in the stage of proestrus. The nerve cells of the MM, ML, RM, and RI do not alter their activity throughout the course of the estrus cycle; features of a decrease in functional activity in the stage of proestrus are observed in the neurons of the MPC and the IS.
