Abstract

Polycrystalline films of manganese ferrites have been produced by pulsed-laser deposition from a MnFe2O4 target onto glass substrates at temperatures of 200–550°C. SEM and energy dispersive X-ray analysis indicate that the films maintain stoichiometry. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the average grain size of the films decreases appreciably with decreasing substrate temperature. Mössbauer spectroscopy studies at 25K are used to investigate hyperfine interaction and magnetic structure of the films.
