Abstract

Nowadays for the fulfillment of global demand for high performance, lightweight, wear and corrosion resistant materials, there can be a replacement of pure metals by composite material with addition of proper filler material for specific purpose of application. Present days there can be seen a remarkable growth in the use of composite materials filled with reinforcement of a fiber material, as we can see composites have variety of applications in structural, automobile and aerospace industries. In addition there is also a cost reduction seen in terms of consumption of material as we can use variety of elements with different percentage content which when combine together shows improvement in their various properties together. In this research we compare the test results regarding tensile strength& density of sheet metal with composite material, black epoxy resin filled with aluminum tri-hydroxide as a fillers material and reinforcement of glass fibers. The improvement in the material properties like stiffness, tensile strength, wear strength, hardness etc. can be seen. With the addition of proper amount of filler material the tensile strength of the material increases with the increase in density of material.
