Abstract

This paper discusses the possibility of using acoustic emission to evaluate the effect of corrosion in grey cast iron. Experimental samples were fabricated and subjected to corrosion attack in condensation chamber for 7 days. Acoustic emission recordings were taken throughout the corrosion exposure period. The results are complemented by metallographic analysis.
