Abstract

The effect of Pb substitution on the properties of Ba 3(1− x) Pb 3 x Co 2Fe 24O 41 hexaferrite sintered at low temperatures was investigated. The formation of Z-type phase and the densification of the sintered ferrites depended on sintering temperature and Pb content. The modified ferrite sintered at 1120°C/4 h with x=0.20 stoichiometry, consisted mainly of Z-type hexagonal phase and exhibited good hyper-frequency properties as follows: 5.0 initial permeability, about 1.5 GHz cut-off frequency, >5 quality factor. Interesting dielectric resonance was found in the hyper-frequency region.
