Abstract
Lead contents measured in soils in 1982 and in the edible tissues of fruits and vegetables during 1982-1983 were compared with results determined for 1987. The analyses were carried out using atomic absorption techniques. Samples of soil and plant material were collected from plots situated in the vicinity of the Irena Glassworks at Inowroc law. It was found that the lead content in investigated samples of both soil and plants, on may occasions, exceeded accepted boundary values. We found in 1987 that in spite of decreased lead emission, plant contamination had not diminished. High lead concentrations may result from both industrial and traffic emissions.
